It is the 2005 Presidential Election in Sri Lanka today. There are 12 candidates participating in the election campaign. Prime Minister Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse and the Opposition Leader Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe are the main contenders. It is said that this year’s election would be a closed contest and probably the preferential system may come into the play.
